Nottingham Board Games Social
Nottingham’s Home for Tabletop Gaming, Strategy, and Connection
Board Game Socials – Find Your Game Group
At the heart of the Creative Quarter, just steps from the Lace Market tram stop, Games Haven Nottingham has quietly become one of the city’s most welcoming homes for hobby gamers of every kind. But there’s something special that happens every Thursday evening and Sunday afternoon — our Board Game Social.
This isn’t just a club night. It’s a ritual. A warm, laughter-filled escape from screens, stress, and small talk. A place where strangers become rivals, rivals become allies, and allies form gaming groups that last for years.
We designed Board Game Social for anyone who loves cardboard worlds, clever mechanics, and real human connection — whether you’re a die-hard Eurogamer, a party-game evangelist, a hidden role chaos gremlin, or just someone who misses the kind of joy you can’t stream.
You don’t need to bring a game. You don’t need a group. You just need to turn up.
Why Games Haven’s Board Game Nights Are Different
There are game nights, and then there’s what we do.
We’ve carved out space in the Lead Belt’s indie gaming scene for something more than competition. We’re building a board game culture that prioritizes community, access, and creativity — not just win conditions.
We’re proudly neurodivergent-welcoming and inclusivity-led, with quieter seating zones, flexible game pairings, and volunteers who understand sensory needs.
Whether you’re autistic, introverted, socially anxious, or just new — We’ve got your back.
Our Thursday evenings cater to the after-work crowd, date night duos, solo adventurers, and groups looking to end the week on a win.
Sunday socials are slower paced, perfect for legacy and campaign sessions, new learner games, and longform strategy without the time pressure.
Every great memory of a game starts with a seat at the table.
The rest is up to your imagination.

Local Love,
&
Indie Focus
We don’t just stock the big publishers. We’ve actively worked with local game designers, indie developers, and regional publishers to give their titles a platform.
From Themeborne’s Escape the Dark series to Alley Cat Games, to student prototypes from NTU and University of Nottingham — our gaming ethos reflects Nottingham’s board game identity as much as global trends.
Want to playtest something? Want to host a designer night? Want to showcase your Kickstarter game in development?
Let’s make it happen.
We’re Not a Café.
We’re a Tabletop Living Room.
Other venues charge for time. We charge for presence.
Games Haven is part hobby shop, part clubhouse, part sanctuary. You won’t be shuffled along for another booking — you can stay all night. Bring your own food, grab a bubble tea from next door, or order takeaway to your table. Our staff will even help you sleeve your new deck or choose a game to match your mood.
Want to start a new board game group? Bring your idea and we’ll give you space, promotion, and support.
Want to test a prototype? We’ve got publishers, designers, and devs who come every month.
Want to bring a partner who’s never played anything beyond Uno? We’ll set them up with something they’ll love.
You’re not too new. You’re not too weird. You’re not too quiet. You belong here.
